“The Church house was amazing. It was a 2-level historic, spacious, and dustless house with a lively lake passing by the back yard. Our girls loved the house which they called it a castle:-). All home appliance are top brand products with class. We were welcomed by a bottle of wine and walnuts from the garden tree. The landlord Heather is a very nice and warm-hearted lady who even arranged the kids to visit her farm understanding where the milk they drink everyday is from. Heather also sent us tea, cooking pans for Chinese cooking and chopsticks on the day of our arrival. Thank you very much for your host Heather! We can feel this historic house is very much respected and well taken care of. When we had to leave for the journey, my little girl wish she could stay longer in this great house. It is one of the best places we stayed in this trip. We would definitely come back and recommend it to friends which we did already to a friend running travel business in Christchurch. It is one of a kind that is nice to experience.”

“When we first arrived to the church, we were blown away by the incredible restoration job they had done on the place. Heather was an immaculate host. I stay in a lot of places, and having even worked for Airbnb on large social media campaigns, i often find myself in great places, Heather's was no exception, rather it surpassed all my previous understandings of hospitality. While most places you can go, will have incredible impacts on you, Heather's warmth was beyond loveliness, it was pure and nearly angelic in nature. The architecture was cozy, and the church offered a very warm environment that felt more like a home and less like some ruse to get people to stay there. You can tell that careful touches and thoughtful details were put into every nook and crevice of this place to make it full of amenities for the modern user, while remaining remote enough to still be a private place alongside a little and very inviting creek. i plan very much so to return, and will gladly recommend this to my future friends traveling through the area. To anyone considering a place well-worth it, this is your home, and is sure to rise to the ranks as one of the best stays in all of not only New Zealand. “Cannot begin to tell you how lovely this beautiful home is. Magnificent restoration and meticulous attention to the smallest detail Such a warm and inviting place, everything you could want if you just moved in forever with a suitcase of clothes. Beautiful linen and towels, stylish decor and stunning windows with a view outside onto a running stream with ducks that make themselves at home in the afternoon sun on the banks The matches the comfort of many of the great lodges we have stayed at just without the staff hovering. If you want to have a relaxing stay somewhere beautiful this is your place”
